Shipping Services Ltd. (SSL) was first registered as a Company in 1959 by the Irish Trade Board to facilitate the flow of import and export traffic between the UK and Ireland. The Company currently operates from its own 70,000 square foot freehold warehouse in the heart of Liverpool docklands. This provides convenient access to the dock area for its shipping activities and to the motorway network, essential for its distribution requirements. Warehouse stocks are imported on behalf of such internationally recognised brands as Topps (USA, Ireland and UK; Colomer Professional incorporating Revlon Professional (USA, Spain and Ireland); Merlin (UK); EI Electronics (Ireland) and Cegasa (Spain), to mention but a few. A full Customs clearance and bonded storage facility is available providing delayed payment of Customs duties and VAT where appropriate. As part of our distribution portfolio, we regularly deliver goods to such household names as Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Homebase, Woolworths, Wilkinson's and Asda ensuring familiarity and compliance with the strictest requirements of the logistics business. At the same time maintaining excellent working relationships with the smaller cash & carry networks and, indeed, individual retail outlets. We provide all warehouse facilities from the intake of palletised or loose product to sorting, picking and packing orders, shrink wrapping and booking in and despatch of orders. Our bespoke warehouse stock control software ensures the systematic rotation of stock, clear identification of products and the availability of stock and activity reports for our customers. Proofs of delivery are kept at Liverpool for ease of query solving. We operate under BIFA (British International Freight Association) 1989 Standard Trading Conditions, a copy of which is available upon request.
